4 Excellent, Budget-Friendly Restaurants to Visit in Barcelona
1.) Best Paella (and drinks!) – ARUME
Located on a pretty hidden, dark street, ARUME has the BEST paella I’ve ever had!
The storefront is small and easy to miss, so be careful in trying to find it.
I arrived there RIGHT when they opened and there was already 3 parties ahead of me to get seated. So if you plan on going here make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get there and wait because TRUST ME people will be there waiting!
If you have the chance to go, I also recommend trying their sangria and blackberry mojito! Both are super refreshing and go perfectly with your meal!
They also offer some bread and olive oil to munch on before your meal comes!

2.) Best Pizza and Pasta – Acqua and Farina
If you’re craving pizza or pasta, I definitely recommend this place in Barcelona!
The prices are also VERY affordable, and the staff is super friendly and will do anything to make sure you enjoy your time and your meal.
Like a lot of restaurants in Barcelona, this one is quite small in size, but this gives the place a very warm and inviting feel.
3.) Best Tacos – El Pachuco
Growing up in Los Angeles County and then going to school in San Diego, I like to believe I have a GOOD take on what’s good Mexican food and what’s not.
The tacos here are LEGIT, and you MUST order the chips and guacamole!
This was another place I had to wait a bit before being seated, but it was definitely worth it!
Of course, they make everything in house but one of my favorite things about this restaurant was the CHIPS!
They weren’t like other thin and crispy tortilla chips; they were more thick-cut, but still packed a BIG crunch and was the perfect complement for their homemade guacamole.
Overall, such a good meal at El Pachuco, everything was made with a lot of care, quality, and freshness.
4.) Best Tapas – Tapeo
Amazing tapas with amazing quality! Located in the Gothic Quarter, Tapeo is a small restaurant that packs some BIG flavor!
Stumbled upon this place in the Gothic Quarter one night, and I’m so happy I did because it ended up being one of the most memorable places I visited!
I ordered the:
-Bombeta de la Barcelona
-100% beef burger with foie gras and mushroom mayonnaise
-Iberian ham croquette
-Patatas bravas
-Beef skirt fillet with chimichurri
-Vegetables sautéed with mushrooms
-pitcher of red sangia
Everything I ordered was packed with a lot of flavor, and I admired the variety Tapeo carried in their menu.
I didn’t get to try everything I wanted, but I’m sure no matter which items you choose, you will be glad you came.
The restaurant is quite small and narrow, but it makes for a cozy and warm atmosphere. The service is great, and the people working want to make sure you are taken care of.
