These air fryer lemon pepper wings are literally SO GOOOD. Every time I make them, I can’t believe they are not fried in oil AT ALL.
They’re super crispy, yet still incredibly juicy, making these wings a MUST at your next dinner, gathering, picnic, or party. These lemon pepper are seriously so easy to make, and there is no need to handle the mess of disposing of used frying oil and having to deal with the ridiculous cleanup.
Air fryers seem to be the hottest kitchen item as of recently, and I can definitely see why. They’re easy to use, easy to clean, and they make food SO CRISPY without ANY OIL. If you haven’t invested in an air fryer yet, I definitely recommend doing so, especially so you can make this recipe!

Tips for Making Lemon Pepper Wings:
- Pat your wings dry. Because you want these wings to be CRISPY ASF, you need to make sure to pat all your wings dry with a paper towel before seasoning them with the spices. Patting them dry will ensure that there is no excess moisture or liquid clinging onto the wings that will prevent them from achieving maximum crispiness.
- Use fresh spices. Make sure the spices you’re using are fresh and not expired. This will help ensure the best flavor of the lemon pepper wings. Expired spices can throw off the taste of the wings.
- Air fry the wings in a single layer. Don’t pack all your wings into the air fryer at once. It’s better to air fry in small batches so that each wing gets enough attention from the air fryer. You want your wings to be crispy ALL OVER, not just on one side, so make sure you give each wing some room. Don’t overcrowd your air fryer trying to cook all the wings at once. Trust me, it’s better to work in small batches (about 8 wings, give or take) with this recipe.
- Make sure you flip the wings. This recipe calls to flip the wings after 12 minutes of cooking. After flipping the wings, cook them for another 13 minutes, for a total of 25 minutes cooking time. Flipping the wings is a MUST to make sure that the wings get crispy ALL OVER, not just on one side.
Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Wings
Ingredients
Chicken wings:
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 1½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp lemon pepper seasoning
To coat chicken wings:
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp lemon pepper seasoning
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 dash cayenne pepper optional
Lemon Pepper Butter:
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
- ¾ tsp lemon pepper seasoning
- ¼ tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 380° Fahrenheit.
- Make sure your chicken wings are patted DRY with a paper towel to remove any excess liquid or moisture. Once patted dry, add the wings to a large bowl and add the spices (garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and lemon pepper). Toss the wings in the spices until all the wings are thoroughly coated.
- Combine the flour, cornstarch, lemon pepper, salt, pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper (optional) in a bowl and use a fork to mix. LIGHTLY coat the seasoned chicken wings in the flour mixture. You just want to cover the wings in a light layer of the flour mixture. No need to heavily pack on the flour.
- Place the chicken wings in a single layer in your air fryer. You don't want to stack the wings on top of each other because the wings won't be able to get crispy all over.
- Air fry the wings for 12 minutes. After the 12 minutes, flip the wings, and cook for an additional 13 minutes.
- While the wings are in the air fryer, you can prepare the lemon pepper butter sauce. Add the chopped parsley, lemon pepper, and salt to the melted butter and mix until well-combined.
- Once the wings are all finished cooking, remove from the air fryer and toss in the lemon pepper butter until all wings are coated. Enjoy immediately!
Final Note:
I personally love using Kerrygold Irish Butter in this recipe because this butter gives such a nice richness to the lemon pepper butter sauce that is a bit different from normal butter. Normal unsalted butter will work just fine too!
10/10 SO GOOD
